Message from Father Chitral

As we begin the year 2017, let me wish each and every one of you a happy and blessed 2017. As we looked back the year 2016 there are many things that we have to give thanks to God as individuals and as a parish and I am sure there are many things that we can learn as well. As a faith community, the Church of Good Shepherd continues to live its mission and looking for ways to grow more in spiritually as well as in numbers. We all can make one of our New Year resolutions to continue to deepen our relationship with God and with each other in our parish family. It’s also a perfect occasion to take inventory of the past 365 days and reflect on our actions and non-actions and to strengthen our resolve to live healthy, stress free and productive lives.   Jesus wants much of the same thing for us, but he also wants more.  He wants us to live lives of meaning and purpose, lives that are full and joyful, lives that are free from anxiety and worry, and lives that are dependent on God. During Advent and Christmas we light candles for our God, ourselves, and for our world – including   candles of hope, peace, joy and love. As we begin the New Year, God calls us to go into the world as the people of God to fulfill our calling knowing that nothing in this world can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
