SUNDAY, DECEMBER 11, 2016 11:00 am   Heifer International Farm, Rutland, MA www.heifer.org/visit/overlook-farm

Meet at the church at 11:00am. We will drive to Heifer International farm in Rutland, MA. The church school kids will present a monetary outreach gift from the parish to Heifer International. On December 4 during Sunday School, the children will make make Christmas ornaments. One of the traditions of our church is to hang a Christmas greeting ornament on the Heifer tree in lieu of sending Christmas cards to each other.  The money that would have been spent on buying cards and postage could instead be donated to Heifer. The church school kids will be joining in this effort by distributing the Heifer tree ornaments and asking for contributions toward an outreach gift from the parish to Heifer International. A visit to this farm furthers the idea that one person can make a difference in ending hunger and poverty. Admission is: canned goods, which will be donated to a local food bank. We will return around 3:00pm.
